Description of project: Main entry upgrade including installation of major services

Scope:

Delivery of a complex project in a tight time frame during the University’s Summer break
Working around heritage listed buildings and narrow areas
Working around existing live services and complex redundant infrastructure
Earthworks on site including site clearing, removal of existing pavement, General Solid Waste and diesel tanks
Road formation work including the removal and treatment of unsuitable subgrade
Construction of concrete and asphalt pavement
Construction of a raised pavement including piles to minimise the disturbance to existing tree roots
Installation of a 2.2m wide common service trench including Hydraulic, Electrical, Gas and Stormwater services
Hard and soft landscaping including relocation of six large palm trees and the installation of an irrigation system
Brick paving work including a trafficable bluestone paving area
Fabrication and installation of a curved Bus Shelter, Pump room and Garbage room enclosures
Installation of light poles and in ground lighting

Value of Contract: $4.0 million
