Description of project: CCE were engaged to complete stage 1 works including the site wide clearing and grubbing, compound setup and bulk and detail excavation works for the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF), Australian Federal Police (AFP) and Australian Border Force (ABF) building slabs for the new Western Sydney Airport.
As part of these stage 1 works CCE also completed the site wide stormwater drainage, the installation of a concrete sleeper retaining wall, the construction of an explosive magazine earth mound, and the road pavement for the Canine Facility.
Stage 2 works include the completion of all kerbs and gutters, installation of final footpaths and ramps, installation of final asphalt road pavement, line marking and signage to provide a fully operational facility.

Scope:

Demolition of asphalt, kerb, gutter and footpath to tie the Canine Facility into the existing entry road.
Clearing and grubbing, removal and management of topsoil, installation of erosion and sediment controls, ground preparation for materials handling and site accommodation areas including diversion road works to commence bulk excavation.
Bulk earthworks inclusive of cut and fill, installation of batters and swales including importation of 600mm thick sandstone fill capping layer for building construction.
Stormwater drainage and treatment systems inclusive of headwalls, swales and scour protection.
Construction of permanent and temporary roads, footpath and carpark pavements.
Detailed excavation and preparation of the building slabs including a dog pool.
Concrete sleeper retaining wall design, supply, installation and certification.
Completion of kerb and gutters
Installation of final footpaths and ramps
Installation of final road pavement
Line marking, wheel stops and signage.
Installation of earth berm around a permanent explosives magazine building.

Value of Contract: $6.5 million
